Planning & the calendar

Two lightweight planning views sit alongside your content: a board to collect ideas and watch work move forward, and a calendar of what's scheduled and what's already gone live.

The content board

Open a site and choose Board (also reachable from the command palette). It lays your work out in five columns, left to right:

  • Ideas — the one column you add to directly: a shared list of things someone might write.
  • Draft — changes being written but not yet submitted.
  • Awaiting approval — changes submitted and waiting on an approver.
  • Planned — approved changes scheduled to go live on a future date.
  • Published — the most recent changes that are live.

Only the Ideas column is a place you manage by hand. The other four are a live picture of your changesas they move from draft to published — you don't drag cards between them; they move themselves as you submit, an approver reviews, and the change goes live. Each card links to the right next step: Continue writing on a draft, Review on one awaiting approval or planned.

Collecting & using ideas

In the Ideas column, give an idea a title and an optional note, then Add idea. The board is a shared whiteboard for the team: anyone who can edit content can add ideas, and anyone who can edit can tidy them away — so treat it as a common backlog, not a private list.

Ready to act on one? Click Write thison the idea card and pick the collection to write it in. PullPress opens a fresh entry with the idea's title already filled in, and the idea leaves the board the moment you save your draft — so the board never shows the same thing twice.

Ideas live only in PullPress, not in your repository, and carry just a title and a note — they're a planning aid, not content. Adding and removing them needs editor (or admin) access; approvers and viewers see the board read-only.

The editorial calendar

The Calendar view (next to Board) shows a month at a time, with two kinds of change on it:

  • Scheduled(amber) — approved changes set to publish on a future date. They land on the day they're scheduled for and link straight to the review screen.
  • Published (green) — changes that went live, shown on the day they were published.

A change only appears on the calendar once it's scheduled or published — drafts and ideas don't show here. You set a date when approving a change: see reviewing & teamwork for scheduling a publish, and saving & publishing for the statuses a change moves through.

What you see on the board and calendar follows your role: editors see their own changes, while approvers and admins see the whole site's pipeline. The Ideas column is shared with everyone who can edit.
